Pride in
Independence
In a vision I
was standing on Noland Road in Independence, MO watching cars passing by. The place reeked
with pride. I believe God is going to bring down the pride of this people, and especially
the ministry who control urighteously, for this is an eternal promise. His saints will be
avenged. The love of God will smite all that is unclean and grind it to powder.
Independence is due for a great shaking up.
Church in Danger "In a sermon in the Brick Church, Brother Joseph Smith III once said the church had gone to destruction because of polygamy, and was in imminent danger again, but not because of polygamy. Next time it would be pride. That prediction was freely discussed, and many thought
it a joke. A dressmaker who had recently come from Chicago, a center of fashion, remarked
that she had never before been in a place where there was so little false pride. The
pendulum swung in that direction but has now swung the other way, and no one questions the
verity of Brother Joseph's predictions, in generous fulfillment."
