'It was a beautiful Sunday morning at church in August, 1975. When the announcement for Junior Camp at Odessa, Missouri, was made, my mother was impressed by the Holy Spirit that I should go.

This Is My True Church
The following was experienced by Todd Smith,
a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, when he was 11 years old.

Earlier in the summer my grandparents from the West Coast visited with us. They began discussing the differences between their church and mine. After they left I was very confused about my own Church, the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which I had been baptized into at the age of eight in 1972. I mentioned this to my parents, and they told me that I must ask God for an up-to-date testimony of the Church. So I continued to pray during the summer months, asking God if the Church I belonged to was true.

Camp began that Sunday afternoon and lasted until the following Thursday. I was excited about going, and my dad drove us there after church. I was assigned to a small cabin with six other boys. During the week at camp I enjoyed the worship services and meeting new friends. And I continued to pray and ask God about the Church. Then on Wednesday evening, the night before going home, I received my answer.

After we had all gone to bed, I was lying in my sleeping bag thinking about the Church. Then I heard a light knock at the door. Since I was on the top bunk, I waited to see if one of the other boys would open the door. When I realized everyone else was asleep, I got down and opened the door. I looked around but could not see anyone there, so I closed the door and went back to my bunk.

Shortly after I had gone back to bed, I heard another knock. As I turned toward the door, it opened and Jesus walked in. A bright white light filled the room from His presence. I felt the warmth and power of His Spirit, and I wasn’t afraid. He took about three steps into the room and looked right at me. He said, “This is My true Church.” Then He turned and walked out closing the door behind Him.

I was very happy inside and thanked the Lord for answering my prayer. When my parents arrived the next day, I shared my experience with them. They said that they had also been praying for me to receive a testimony. I am grateful that God has blessed me with this testimony. I know this Church is true."
